Spellbound by Movies has gone multimedia! After experimenting with Instagram stories like the one I’ve posted here previously, I started thinking about how video can supplement my writing and help me create more content for you consistently. I can have a demanding work schedule, which involves travel, so sometimes I may be too tired to write, but I’m not too tired to talk.
There’s an intimacy to video. You’ll get to hear my voice–its timbre, its lilt, its stops and starts, and the words I emphasize. I used to be a college and community radio DJ, and I heard my voice through my headphones dancing through the ether. I’m excited to have another way to connect with you where I can make use of another talent.
Plus, video will add to what I can show you of the events I’ve attended. I’ll keep photographing events and attempting to capture great moments for you, but moving images combined with sound will allow you to even more vicariously experience moments and share them with me. That seems fitting for a movie blog!
I’m in the process of deciding what types of videos I’ll make and how much cross-posting will occur be between my YouTube channel and this blog. You’re welcome to subscribe to my channel if you don’t want to miss any post there!
If you enjoy my writing, don’t worry, so do I. The written portion of my blog is not going to disappear. I’m in love with the process of writing and words too much to ever truly abandon them. I have taken hiatuses of varying lengths, and they’ve allowed me to return refreshed, but I miss writing and don’t feel quite like myself when I’ve stayed away from it too long.
