Hi Beth. Could I please pen a tribute to Lena Horne? Not sure yet what date I will post on. If possible will let you know nearer the time. This is going to be so interesting. Proud of you for finally taking the plunge and hosting a blogathon.

Maddy, thanks so much for your encouragement! The blogathon has been a lot of fun so far, and the posts haven’t even gone live yet. It’s encouraging that people are intrigued by the topic and are seeing how broad a range of films and performers it covers.

Most definitely you can cover Lena Horne! One other blogger has requested her, but I think you’ll both have different approaches to covering her. I don’t think a lot of people know she has Afro-Portuguese heritage, so getting twice the spotlight on this is fine with me!

What day will you post go live on?

Hi Beth. I think it will make for very interesting reading, and as you say, it will mean people can get a spotlight. As I said in my post on your page, I’m not sure yet what day I will be posting on. I’ll let you know nearer the time.

I’m so excited to read the fine details about this blogathon, Beth, I’m delighted that Lê will be co-hosting with you. 🤗

I confirm that I would like to write about Brazilian film ‘The House of Sand’ (2005), in which I will also talk more about mother-daughter acting duo Fernanda Montenegro and Fernanda Torres.
I’m ok with submitting my post on the 12th of November. 🙂

Hey Beth, I will post about Helena D’Algy and if I can her brother Tony. There is NOT all that much I have been able to turn up. I may simply post on the 1924 film A Sainted Devil which she made with Valentino.

Oh, how about Aniki Bóbó (1942)? As to the date, I’d prefer November 12!

Hi, Beth! I love this blogathon topic and after being torn between a few subjects, I think I’d like to write about Carmen Miranda in Down Argentine Way (1941) on November 15th! Thanks!
