The Caftan Woman Blogathon Banner

Honoring Patricia Nolan-Hall

There’s an upcoming classic film and classic TV blogathon that’s very special to me and to many other bloggers. It honors a woman who was not only talented but also generous, supportive, and sweet. The world lost her unique and valuable presence on March 7.

Patricia Nolan-Hall blogged as Caftan Woman, a name she gave her blog as well. A caftan is colorful, comfortable, warm, and cosy. That’s how she made the classic film blogosphere feel. Sometimes it’s hard enough to find time to write a full blog post. Paddy would write insightful and delightful posts AND find time to read and comment upon others’ blogs, always positively and very encouraging. You can see examples of her comments on my blog here, here, here, and here.

She was a fellow member of the Classic Movie Blog Association or CMBA. We’ve suffered a lot of losses in the last two years. The outpouring of love and tears for Paddy has been unparalleled. It meant something that someone who wrote so well and was incredibly well-versed in classic film and TV showed no snobbery. Her legacy is one of friendship and generosity.

Jacqueline at Another Old Movie Blog and Patty at Lady Eve’s REEL LIFE are hosting a blogathon to celebrate that legacy. Join me as a blogger or as a reader or even better as a commenter on Friday, May 6th for The Caftan Woman Blogathon – Honoring Patricia Nolan-Hall! Sign up to write for the blogathon on Jacqueline’s blog or on Patty’s blog.
